The Global Supply Chain team in Luxembourg has been on a journey to become recognized as a global expert in everything we do. What you’ll do
The aim is to shape Vodafone as a worldwide expert in Energy procurement securing clean, affordable, and traceable supply. Procurement Managers are the key to enabling this transformation through the identification and development of market analysis, and commercial models and executing procurement to secure power to our network operations. As a Category Manager, Energy, you will be part of the professional team within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Network. Together with the team, you will be steering the development and implementation of the sourcing category strategy for electricity, gas, and water procurement. You will:
Source energy supply contracts from initial business engagement to execution and award.
Be responsible for procurement delivery, quality checking of offers, presentation of results, and engaging the business in finding resolutions by working with senior colleagues.
Manage the renewable supply contract landscape, engaging the business to ensure matching sources of renewable supply with business needs & category strategy.
Complete benchmarking to relevant internal and external sources.
Manage energy market research topics providing direction on key areas of interest. Conduct evaluation of supplier and key economic trends. Formulate all research and information as inputs to the category strategy driving outcomes on specific topics.
Read, understand, and live our energy buying policy driving benchmarking and reporting.
Through strategy work, deliver support to draw conclusions processes together with the team.
Help shape, define, and deliver support to help our Digital Transformation.
Engage closely with related energy & infrastructure categories & business topics as part of cross-functional teams to ensure a wide knowledge base across our infrastructure and operations.
Who you are
Reasoning Skills: Strong commercial, evaluation, and research with an interest in data, economics, and commodity markets, strong at market research learning fast, and absorbing high quantities of data at the outset. Working with numbers, and spreadsheets is pivotal. Ability to deal with an international, functional matrix environment with a certain degree of ambiguity working across different cultures.
Performance: A track record of delivering demanding targets, including the ability to help define and deliver programs whilst balancing direct project supervision.
Ambiguity: Ability to deal with an international, functional matrix environment with a certain degree of ambiguity working across different cultures.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and influence key internal and external stakeholders. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, able to build and engage in financial modeling discussions and topics. Being open to help, drive, and shape supplier offers to required deadlines is necessary.
Languages: English language proficiency (both written and spoken), and any other language will be an asset.
Education: A degree in Finance, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Sciences.
