  • Full-time maximum term position to 30 June 2025, based at Blacktown
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers and source job vacancies for CALD job seekers
  • Annual salary is $83,962 + 10.5% super (2% salary increase in September 2023)

About the position
We are seeking applications for an Employer Engagement Specialist position based at our Blacktown location. If successful, you will provide access to employers and job vacancies for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) job seekers who are addressing/overcoming barriers to employment, to ensure that they gain suitable and sustainable employment opportunities within an appropriate time frame. You will also be responsible for the development of relationships with local employers to assist with the timely placement and ongoing support for AMES Australia clients, and provide labour market information to AMES Australia employees to ensure employers are well prepared and supported as they take candidates on work experience and job placements.

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
  • Minimum of a Diploma in Commerce, Arts, Business, Social Sciences or related field and/or a minimum of 3 years' business development, sales & marketing experience
  • A current valid Driver Licence for NSW
  • A current Working With Children Check (Employee) for NSW
  • A working knowledge and understanding of employment support services, specifically for refugee and asylum seeker cohorts and the challenges they face
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labour market trends
  • Demonstrated record of success in placement of job seekers into employment or experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive job seeker assessment, identifying barriers to employment and preparing individual career or job plans
  • Proven ability to motivate clients, and advocate and negotiate on their behalf
  • Proven experience successfully working in and leading a small cohesive team to achieve team targets/results
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to build and maintain rapport with stakeholders across different areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrated personal integrity and respect for confidential information
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, self-organised and methodical, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
