The Opportunity

Do you find purpose in connecting the digital with the physical world? As a Senior Mechanical BIM Technician, you will use your digital skills to deliver critical social infrastructure projects from eco-developments to high tech Data Centres. Every day you will have the opportunity to push BIM boundaries and create new possibilities for our clients. With access to a global community of BIM champions, you will collaborate with and learn from other digitally driven minds including leading BIM teams on small and large scale projects by managing and modelling Mechanical services on BIM projects.

Within this role you will also be identifying new opportunities to improve quality and project delivery

This position is based in the South African, Cape Town office and responsible for driving Arup’s business in the space.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for individuals with the following experience –

  • BIM industry experience as a Mechanical BIM Technician / Modeller
  • Awareness of mechanical design principles, industry standards and competency with drawing air and fluid side plans and schematics
  • In coordinating MEPF services with other disciplines in a 3D environment and extensive knowledge of software including Autodesk Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks, Dynamo, Rhino Inside and Enscape knowledge.
  • Medium and large-scale projects including work on masterplans and high-rise designs and experience with model federation and coordination.
