Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
This role is focussed on working with sensitive claimants to plan support that meets their needs, liaising with providers, and connecting claimants to the appropriate services.

  • Talking to claimants and listening to what their needs and whanau needs are in terms of wellbeing support while they undertake the claims process.
  • Working with claimants to develop an interim plan to support their wellbeing.
  • Connecting claiamnts to appropriate services that are tailored to their interim plan.

Salary range: $81,966 - $99,292 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

Mōhou ake | About you
To be successful in this role you will use your strong experience working with people who are vulnerable and who may have experienced trauma to identify what support would make a difference to people accessing our sensitive claims process. Your background in working with community stakeholders will enable you to build positive working relationships with community providers, adding to a smooth and efficient service for our clients. Your knowledge and experience in using Te Ao Māori and/or Te Ao Pasifika frameworks of engagement will ensure you provide culturally appropriate support.

You will also demonstrate:
  • Empathy and understanding.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent inter-personal and relationship management skills.
  • Proven experience being accountable for delivery of an important process in a previous role.
Mātau rōpū ake | About our ministry, group, and team
At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.
This role sits within the Sensitive Claims team in Te Pae Aronui|Operations and Integration branch. Te Pae Aronui helps drive a focus on equity throughout Te Tāhuhu|Ministry of Education by connecting across the Ministry and providing expert support and services into the regions.
